YOUTH MISSIONARY DEPARTMENT

The First Missionary Baptist Church Youth Missionary Department is very active on the community, local, district, and state-wide level.  They travel to meetings and training sessions for the Columbus County Mass Union, Bladen-Columbus Union, Group 2-District 6 (Columbus, Brunswick, and New Hanover counties), and the Women's Baptist Home and Foreign Mission (including the Annual Conference).  The church also sponsors our youth at Annual Bible Camp (WBHFM).  

Jah'Meesha McMillian and Amaris S. Roberts currently hold offices on the state level with the Women's Baptist Home and Foreign Missions Association.

EDUCATION, TUTORING, AND MENTORING MINISTRY

This ministry is available to tutor FMBC and community children as needed, provide adult volunteers and EOG test proctors in the classroom, and provide financial assistance to our local schools when needed.  We also honor our schools by providing recognition and gifts of appreciation to our teachers during "Teacher Appreciation Week" and on other special occasions.

The Pastor, Christian Education Ministry, and other members also visit the schools to provide support to our youth members when they are participating in activities.  

This ministry is also available to visit the school with the parent or guardian to provide support when needed to advocate for their child and secure additional educational accommodations.


EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY AWARDS RECOGNITION

ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS SUNDAY

On the 4th Sunday of June each year at 11:00 AM worship, we honor ALL students and graduates for their hard work, progress, and achievements.  This includes all members (children and adults) from Nursery School to Advanced Degrees.


ANNUAL BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUNDAY

At the Sunday Morning Worship preceding the start of a new school year, we honor and pray for all students, parents, and the community in a special service.  Educators, school administrators, and local elected officials are always in attendance to provide encouragement to our students as well.
